Our Story
Little Toy Dogs are hand made heritage toys, designed and sewn by Alice Wood in her south London studio. Using traditional toy-making processes Alice creates unique characterful dogs from beautiful mohair fur fabrics, which have been used to make Teddy Bears and toys for over 100 years.
Alice is a member of the British Toymakers Guild and the Crafts Council Directory of Makers. She trained in pattern cutting before studying BA Illustration at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and MA Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Before starting the Little Toy Dog Company she worked as an illustrator for many years. She has had two children’s books published and was the short story illustrator in Horse + Pony magazine, her favourite job! Her illustration website is HERE.
